Starting in Moshi, you’ll be transferred to the Marangu Gate to begin your ascent, passing through lush rainforests, heather and moorland zones, and the alpine desert zone. The breathtaking scenery will leave you in awe as you make your way to the summit.

After reaching the summit of Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, you’ll feel an immense sense of accomplishment and pride. The stunning views of the surrounding landscape will take your breath away and stay with you forever.

If you have opted for the optional airport transfers, we will pick you up from Kilimanjaro airport or Arusha airport and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. 

Pre-trek briefing at your hotel in Arusha. You should be planning to arrive at least one day before the start of the trek. Today we will spend in having a pre-trek briefing. We will also review your equipment and rent any equipment which is needed.


After breakfast, you’ll be driven to the Marangu Gate, where you’ll register for the climb and begin your ascent. You’ll hike through the lush rainforest and reach the Mandara Hut (2,700m) in the late afternoon. Overnight at the hut.
Meals: Lunch and Dinner


After breakfast, you’ll leave the rainforest behind and trek through the heather and moorland zone, with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. You’ll arrive at the Horombo Hut (3,720m) in the late afternoon, where you’ll rest and acclimatize to the altitude. Overnight at the hut.

After breakfast, you’ll continue your ascent through the alpine desert zone, passing the “last water point” at 4,200m. You’ll arrive at the Kibo Hut (4,700m) in the afternoon, where you’ll have an early dinner and rest before your summit attempt. Overnight at the hut.

You’ll be woken up at midnight and given a light breakfast before beginning your summit attempt. You’ll climb in the dark, using headlamps, and reach Gilman’s Point (5,681m) in time for sunrise. From there, you’ll continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After taking in the stunning views, you’ll descend back to the Kibo Hut for a short rest before continuing down to the Horombo Hut (3,720m). Overnight at the hut.

After breakfast, you’ll begin your final descent to the Marangu Gate, where you’ll sign out and receive your certificate of achievement. You’ll then be transferred back to your hotel in Moshi for a celebratory dinner and overnight stay.
