Upon your arrival in Arusha, the vibrant gateway city to Tanzania’s natural wonders, our Njofu Expedition team will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Take this day to rest, acclimate to the local environment, and prepare for the exciting days ahead. Overnight at Tulia Hotel and Spa

After an early breakfast, we’ll drive to Momella Gate, the starting point of the Mt Meru climb. Begin the trek through the lush rainforest, spotting wildlife along the way. Reach Miriakamba Hut, situated at an elevation of 2,514 meters (8,250 feet), and enjoy a well-deserved rest while savoring the scenic surroundings.

As the sun rises, continue the ascent through the enchanting forest and emerge above the treeline into moorland terrain. Experience the transition in vegetation and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Reach Saddle Hut, located at an elevation of 3,570 meters (11,712 feet), where you’ll spend the night.

Rise early for the exhilarating summit push. The trail becomes steeper as you approach Socialist Peak, the highest point of Mt Meru at 4,562 meters (14,968 feet). Witness a magnificent sunrise and relish the awe-inspiring views of Mt Kilimanjaro and the surrounding plains. Descend back to Miriakamba Hut for a well-deserved rest.

After breakfast, continue the descent through the lush rainforest, enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. Arrive at Momella Gate, where our team will be waiting to congratulate you on your successful Mt Meru climb. Transfer to Tulia Hotel and Spa and spend the rest of the day unwinding and reflecting on your achievement.


On the final day of your Mt Meru adventure, savor a delicious breakfast at your hotel. Take the opportunity to explore Arusha, visit local markets, or relax before your departure. Our team will transfer you to the airport or assist with your onward travel arrangements, marking the end of an incredible journey with Njofu Expedition.
