Serengeti Wildebeest Migration 8 Days Safari
Njofu Expeditions offers an 8-day mid-range Serengeti Wildebeest Migration Safari, perfect for families. This tour offers an unmatched game viewing experience, with a chance to witness the incredible crossing of the Mara River during the wildebeest migration. In addition, the tour includes a visit to Tarangire National Park, famous for its unique baobab trees, and game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater, all while staying at authentic tented camps in the African bush. The tour is customizable based on your preferences and interests. The best time to embark on this adventure is from January to March, also known as the Southern Serengeti-Ndutu Area, or from July to October for the Northern Serengeti crossing of the Mara River.
To witness the Great Serengeti Wildebeest Migration, the best time to go is during January. February marks the calving season when many migratory animals give birth to their offspring. This period is a prime time for predator interaction and witnessing a wildebeest birth. March can be wet, but the grasslands are lush and green, providing much-needed sustenance for the herds. August is ideal for witnessing the dramatic Mara River crossings, which is also a hot and humid month. September is similar to August, and the majority of the herds will be in the Greater Maasai Mara area. It is relatively easy to predict where the herds will be during September, making it an excellent time to go on a safari tour.
